PURPOSE: To facilitate the confirmation of timer time by displaying the timer time for a constant time when a stand-by switch is turned on.

CONSTITUTION: A control circuit 1 performs the clocking operation of a timepiece on the basis of the reference oscillation frequency of a crystal oscillator 4. The clocked time drives a display device 3 by a display circuit 2. An operation switch 5 is used to adjust the current time and also turn on and off a stand-by mode. The timer-ON time set by this switch is stored in a memory 6 for timer-ON time storage. The circuit 1 uses a microcomputer frequently and when the stand-by switch is turned on to enter a stand-by mode, the timer time is displayed for a certain time. Thus, the timer time is displayed every time the stand-by switch is turned on, so an error in the setting of the timer time is easily found.
