Abstract:
1. Timing system for sporting competitions comprising a central unit (6) for the management of data relating to the course and a passage detector (2, 3, 4, 5) of the competitors arranged at each control point located along the length of the course adapted to emit a passage signal, characterized in that it comprises a peripherical unit (14, 15, 16, 17) attached to each control point and coupled to the central unit (6), said peripherical unit (14, 15, 16, 17) including manually operable data introduction means controlled by an operator (8, 9, 10, 11) to introduce, confirm or correct therein information relating to the identity of competitors passing the control point, said information and said passage signal being then accepted by the central unit (6).
