PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a device and to increase its operation speed by eliminating the need for many cams and detection switches detecting the teeth or grooves of one pulse cam by a detection switch and processing the detection result by a logical circuit.

CONSTITUTION: As a pulse cam 1 which has (n) teeth 2 at the peripheral part turns, the teeth 2 are detected by a detection switch 3, such as a proximity switch and a photoelectric switch, arranged at the peripheral part of the cam 1. The output signal of the detection switch 3 is applied to a counter IC4 to be converted into a decimal number. The output of the counter IC4 is applied to a flip-flop 6 through an AND circuit 5 and an H-level signal is outputted from the counter IC4 until another output is inputted as a reset signal, utilizing the output pulses as a signal which operates various automatic machines.
