Abstract:
To provide a tool body for a tip replaceable cutting tool, the tool body being capable of more improving chip handling property and cooling property of a cutting insert.SOLUTION: A tool body 11 includes a body part and insert attachment seats 12 to each of which a cutting insert 10 can be attached. The body part has a coolant channel to flow coolant from a tool base end side of the body part and jet the coolant out of the vicinity of the insert attachment seats 12. The coolant channel has an inlet channel, a coolant pocket, and a plurality of jet channels 19. The plurality of jet channels 19 open at outer peripheral surfaces of the body part, respectively. The body part has a plurality of opening arrays 20A, 20B, each comprising three or more of openings of the jet channels 19 arranged in a line at the vicinity of the insert attachment seat 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
