To provide a tip saw greatly improved in cutting efficiency and durability while securing the stiffness of a base metal so as not to cause its deflection.
The tip saw 1 comprises: a disk shape base metal 3 formed by a single plate; a plurality of blade portions 7 which are formed on the outer peripheral region 3B of the base metal 3 so as to project radially outward at a nearly constant interval in the circumference; and cutting tips 9 fixed to the tip end side of the blade portions 7 in the rotational direction. The relation among the thickness t2 of the outer peripheral region 3B including the blade portions 7 and their neighborhood, the thickness t1 of the body portion 3A of the base metal 3, and the axial width w of the cutting tips 9 are set so as to satisfy a following condition, wt1t2. As a result, the width w of the cutting tips 9 is reduced while securing a required dimension of its set.
