Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and commercially valuable tip of an umbrella capable of preventing a gore from being twitched when sewing gores and preventing the tip from easily dropping off when the sewing thread is cut.
SOLUTION: A thread hole 10c for inserting a thread for sewing a gore to the tip 10 is formed shifted from the center axis of the tip in the radial direction. Preferably, a rising part l0b is formed on the side surface of the tip in its longitudinal direction and the thread hole is formed in the rising part. It is also preferable that an engaging hole 10e is formed in the tip member for engaging with a stopper engagement nail 12a mounted in a rib or in a middle member between ribs. A doll, animal or other character is displayed on the side surface where the gore is stretched. The character may be a two-dimensional figure, though more preferably, it may be a threedimensional model.
