PURPOSE: To make an excessive protrusion preventable from going beyond the width of a side link in time of setting a chain to a tire, by inserting a hook into the side link of the other end part and turning it round, then directly engaging the hook with the side link at the hook side.

CONSTITUTION: A hook 7 is provided with a base end engaging part 7a engaging it with a slide link 2 of the other end part and a tip engaging part 7b engaging it with another side link 2 at the hook 7 side. Therefore, in time of setting a tire chain as well as in time of the side link 2 being linked and engaged, the hook 7 is rotated by inserting it into the side link 2 of the other end part, while the side link 2 of the other end part is engaged with the base end engaging part 7a of the hook 7, then the tip engaging part 7b of the hook 7 is engaged with the side link 2 at the hook 7 side, thus tire chain setting takes place. Because of such a composition that makes the side link 2 at the hook side have a stopper function like this, in time of setting a chain to a tire T, an excessive protrusion due to a stopper can be prevented.
