To provide a tire design method capable of easily identifying a design variable which maintains a first characteristic value and changes a second characteristic value.
The method comprises: step ST3 of generating a plurality of sample points; step ST4 of calculating first and second characteristic values for the generated plural sample points respectively with respect to each of the design variables; step ST5 of extracting sample points having the first characteristic value s1 within a predetermined range Ar1 from the generated plural sample points; step ST6 of performing cluster analysis with the second characteristic values s2 of the extracted plural sample points; step ST7 of extracting two clusters cs1, cs7 which have opposed end values of the second characteristic value s2 from plural clusters cs1 to cs7 classified in the analysis; and step ST8 to ST11 of aligning the plural sample points as targets for the analysis according to a certain design variable and determining whether the opposed clusters cs1, cs7 are distributed in the opposed end for the design variable, or not, with respect to all of the design variables.
