Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve resistance to cutting by allowing base rubber to be made in such a way that each of such factors as width, thickness, exothermic temperature, and exothermic temperature of cap rubber is specified in a radial tire with steel belts embedded. CONSTITUTION:Base rubber 14 is made of a rubber composition which is composed of natural rubber by 50-100%, raw rubber by weight of 100 consisting of styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber by 50-0%, carbon black by weight of 30-50 with iodine absorption of 100mg/g, silica by weight of 5-30, silane coupling agent in general formula by weight of 0.5-6.0, and softener by weight of 0-3. And the base rubber is formed into a shape in such a way that exothermic temperature measured by Goodrich flexometer is 15-30 deg.C, the width Bw is 20-90% of the tread width Tw, the thickness Bd is 15-80% of the tread thickness Td. Besides, exothermic temperature of cap rubber 5 is made to be lowerer than 25 deg.C. This configuration improves resistance to both cutting and separation with the provision of improved heat build-up.
