To provide a tire for a heavy load having improved wear resistance on wet and dry roads.
A center land part row 24 in a row is disposed by forming a pair of circumferential sub-groove 20 on a tread 16 of the tire for the heavy load at both sides of the center line CL. The distance between the amplitude center line K of the sub-grooves 20 is 25 to 50% of the tread width. The center land part row 24 is made to be pseudo block row by forming the width direction narrow width 30 connecting the sub-grooves 20, and the block rows 36 partitioned by the sub-grooves 20 and a lug groove 34 are formed at the both sides in the tire width direction of the sub-grooves 20. Negative rates of the center land row 24 and the block row 36 are 10 to 20% and 15 to 27% respectively. The groove depth of the sub-grooves 20 and the narrow width groove 30 is 70 to 100% of the groove depth of the lug groove 34, the groove width of the sub-grooves 20 and the narrow width groove 30 are 5 to 15% and 3.5 to 4.5% of one pitch of the lug groove 34 respectively, and the average angle α made by the lug groove 34 with respect to the circumferential direction is 65 to 80 degree.
