To provide a tire mounting and demounting apparatus by which a tire is easily and rapidly mounted on a wheel or a tire is demounted from a wheel without damaging a surface of the tire.

The tire mounting and demounting apparatus includes: a turntable 4 that holds a lower rim of a wheel in a detachable state and drives to rotate the wheel about a vertical rotation axial line L1; a bead guiding member 6 that guides a lower bead or an upper bead of a tire to be fitted to an upper rim of the wheel, and guides the upper bead of a tire fitted to an upper rim of a wheel to be demounted from the upper rim; a bead roller 21 having a pressing surface extending in a direction going away from the rotation axial line, the bead roller that presses the upper bead of a tire mounted on a wheel from above, at a position producing a predetermined angle in a downstream side in a rotation direction of the turntable from a position where the bead guide member is disposed; and a tire pressing member 35 having a planar presser that presses the tire from above in a region located in a downstream side in the rotation direction from a position where the bead roller is disposed and in an upstream side in the rotation direction from a position where the bead guiding member is disposed.
