Abstract:
A tire pressure monitoring system comprising: a plurality of detection devices (2) provided in a plurality of tires (3) on a vehicle (C) and wirelessly transmitting, in accordance with requests, response signals including a self-identifier and air pressure information; and a monitoring device (1) that receives response signals and monitors air pressure for each tire (3). A storage unit in the monitoring device (1) associates and stores a plurality of tire positions and identifiers for the detection devices (2). The monitoring device (1) sends to each tire position request signals using identifiers stored by the storage unit. The detection devices (2) send response signals if the identifier included in a request signal matches the identifier for the detection device. The monitoring device (1) outputs air pressure information, if there has been a response signal from each tire position, and executes processing whereby the contents of the storage unit are refreshed, if there is no response.
