Title:
TIRE UNIFORMITY TESTING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010256365
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To make conversion and maintenance of tire sizes easy.

A tire uniformity testing system includes a testing station (12) mounted on a gantry-like frame structure and an inlet conveyor (10) located adjacent to the testing station. The inlet conveyor receives a tire (102) and centers the tire (102) so that its rotational axis (154) is located at predetermined distance from the rotational axis (156) of the testing station (12), and a conveyor (100a) transports the tire (102) to the testing station (12). The testing station (12) includes rotatable chuck and spindle assemblies mounted to the frame which include upper and lower rims that engage the beads of the tire (20) and are rotated to rotate the tire (20). The rotating tire (20) is engaged by a loadwheel (42) that generates electrical signals indicative of the uniformity of the tire (20).
