PURPOSE: To contrive miniaturization of a vulcanizing machine of a tire by improving operating efficiency, by a method wherein a spacer column to be connected with a pressurizing cylinder through a connecting device is provided at the time of vulcanization of a tire, and the spacer column is fixed to the top of a bolster.

CONSTITUTION: An unvulcanized tire is inserted into a lower mold 10, than cylinders 7, 8 for ascent and descent of a press are actuated in an extending direction, a spacer column 3, head 4, bolster, upper platen 5 and upper mold 9 are descended and the upper mold 9 and a lower mold 10 are closed. Then the spacer column 3 and a pressurizing cylinder 2 are connected with each other by actuating a connecting device 13, and the pressurizing cylinder 2 is actuated in an extending direction. Pressurizing force at that time is transmitted to the upper mold 9 through the spacer column 3, head 4, bolster and upper platen 5 and vulcanization of the unvulcanized tire is performed by tightening up the upper mold 9 and lower mold 10. When the vulcanization is completed, connection of the connecting device 13 is disconnected and a vulcanized tire is taken out from within the lower mold 10.
