Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a flocculant by mixing or together using a low cost economical titanium compound solution, containing no aluminum compound and having excellent flocculation and sedimentation capability in a wide range of pH, with an iron compound solution in the treat ment of tap water or sewage.
SOLUTION: A water treatment flocculant having effective flocculation and sedimentation capacity within a wide pH range from an acidic region to an alkaline region is obtained by mixing or together using a titanium compound which is obtained by concentrating a titanyl sulfate solution with a TiO2 concentration of 15% or a titanium tetrachloride solution so that the concentration TiO2 becomes 20% or more, and iron compound.
