To provide lubricant compositions containing a soluble titanium-containing material, having beneficial effects on properties such as deposit control, oxidation, and filterability in, for instance, engine oils.
The lubricating composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity, 1 to 1,000 ppm by weight of titanium in the form of an oil-soluble titanium-containing material, and at least one additional lubricant additive provides beneficial effects on properties such as deposit control, oxidation, and filterability in engine oils. The lubricating composition comprises: (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity; (b) 1 to 1,000 ppm by weight of titanium in the form of an oil-soluble titanium-containing material; and (c) at least one additive selected from the group, the additive consisting of (i) anti-wear agents, (ii) dispersants, (iii) antioxidants, and (iv) detergents.
