Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide titanium for a copper foil production drum which has a uniform metallic structure, and a production method therefor.
SOLUTION: The titanium for a copper foil production drum having a uniform metallic structure has a composition containing, by mass, 0.01 to 0.04% Fe and 0.001 to 0.1% O, and the balance titanium with inevitable impurities. Each average crystal grain size in a region of 1 mm below the surface and a 1/3 sheet thickness part is ≤50 μm, and, the difference in the average crystal grain size between the region of 1 mm below the surface and the 1/3 sheet thickness part is ≤5 μm. Also, preferably, each coefficient of variation in the area distribution of the crystal grains in the region of 1 mm below the surface and the 1/3 sheet thickness part is ≤35%.
