Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium dioxide pigment composition capable of discouraging titanium dioxide particles from agglomerating.SOLUTION: A novel polymer comprises a water soluble polymer backbone, at least one functional group attached to the polymer backbone and having an affinity for titanium dioxide, and at least one hydrophobic functional group attached to the polymer backbone and having an affinity for latex. A titanium dioxide pigment composition is also provided including the novel polymer. Also provided is a method of manufacturing the titanium dioxide pigment composition that includes the novel polymer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
