Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a titanium nitride sintered material capable of performing its sintering treatment under an atmospheric pressure and extremely lowering its sintering temperature.
SOLUTION: This titanium nitride sintered material is obtained by mixing a titanium nitride powder with 2-20wt.% powder of Y2O3 and MgAl2O4 having (1/4-)-(2/1) weight ratio of Y2O3/MgAl2O4 and ≥5wt.% silicon nitride powder, forming the mixture and sintering the formed material under a nitrogen gas atmosphere of an atmospheric pressure at ≥1,500°C.
