Title:
TITANIUM OXIDE SOL DISPERSED IN ORGANIC SOLVENT, AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3970603
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium oxide sol, excellent in both compatibility and liquid stability with a hydrophilic organic solvent or its solvent-based polymer, easy to thicken a film when producing a thin film from the sol, and useful for the functional upgrade of various materials.
SOLUTION: This titanium oxide sol dispersed in an organic solvent includes oxycarboxylic acid in a range of 0.03-3.0 of the molar ratio thereof to titanium oxide, and an amino compound in the range of 0.03-0.3 of that thereof to titanium oxide. Such titanium oxide sol is produced by adding the amino compound to a titanium oxide sol which is dispersed in water and is stabilized by oxycarboxylic acid, and then replacing water with the organic solvent.
