Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium weld pipe capable of achieving 0.2% bearing force in an axial direction of 275 MPa or more and freeze resistance time of 3 or more in a freeze repeating test in a heat transfer pipe suitable of a heat exchanger for flowing sea water in the pipe, contacting media at a low temperature outside of the pipe and evaporating low temperature media.SOLUTION: There is provided a titanium weld pipe having an oxygen condensed layer with thickness equivalent to 10 to 40% of a sheet thickness as total in one or both of inner and outer surface layers of the titanium weld pipe, an oxygen concentration in the site of 0.12 to 0.20 mass%, the oxygen concentration in the other site of 0.07 to 0.10 mass%, and further average crystal particle diameter of a mother material in zones other than a weld zone and a heat affected zone of 30 to 100 μm. It is obtained by making a weld pipe from a hoop material obtained from a titanium clad material manufactured from an ingot or the like by melting and freezing a surface of ingot or the like having an oxygen layer on a surface layer or a pure titanium with different oxygen concentration as a raw material.
