PURPOSE: To provide a photographic support high in mechanical strength, reducible in film thickness, superior in colorless transparency and flatness and anticurling tendency, freed of deterioration of transparency in storage at high temperature, moderate in lateral curling and suitable for use in compact cameras.
CONSTITUTION: The photographic support is characterized by being oriented and having at least one layer containing a copolymerized polyester obtained by using as dicarboxylic components, aromatic dicarboxylic acid, aromatic dicarboxylic acid having a metal sulfonate group, and polyalkyleneoxydicarboxylic acid, diesterifying the aromatic dicarboxylic acid and/or its derivative with glycol, at that time, in a stage of diesterification of 50-90%, adding the glycol ester of the aromatic dicarboxylic acid having the metal sulfonate group, and polyalkyleneoxycarboxylic acid, and further esterifying and polycondensing the mixture in the presence of glycol.
