PURPOSE: To save manpower of a work when connecting an optical cable by constituting so that plural optical fiber core wires arrange the respective end faces on the same surface in one unit and they are focused to one unit or plural units, at one end side of the optical cable, and plural optical fiber core wires are separated respectively, at the other end side.
CONSTITUTION: In case when the second optical cable B is connected to the tip of the first optical cable A, an optical cable of an embodiment is used as the second optical cable B, and it is laid so that a focusing part side comes to a photodetector 5 side. Also, the end face of the core wire focusing part of the optical cable B is opposed to the photodetector 5. That is to say, the photodetector 5 is coupled with all optical fiber core wires 2a, 2b... of the optical cable B. When it has come to the end and the next optical fiber core wires 2c, 2c are connected, it is executed by only setting the inner end side of the same core wires 2c, 2c to a welding connector 3, and setting the outer end side of one core wire 2c to a light emitting device 4, and setting to the photodetector 5 becomes unnecessary. That is to say, as for setting of the optical fiber core wire to the photodetector 5, only that of the first time will do, and thereafter, it is unnecessary that a worker always attends at that position.
