Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive consisting of a specific adhering component, a polymerizable monomer capable of copolymerizing the adhering component and a polymerization initiator, having an excellent adhesion to a metal, especially to a precious metal and suitably used in the field of dentistry. SOLUTION: This adhesive contains (A) a compound having mercapto group or a polysulfide group bound with a saturated carbon and also an olefinic double bond, (B) a polymerizable monomer having a copolymerizing property with the component (A) [suitably, a (meth)acrylic acid ester such as methylmethacrylate] and (C) a polymerization initiator (e.g.; cumenehydroperoxide). As the component (A), a thiol compound of the formula [R1 is H or methyl; R2 is a 1-40C organic group; R3 , R4 are each H, mercapto, etc.; X is COO, S, etc.; (1) is 0, 1] is preferable. It is preferable to prepare the adhesive by using a method of dissolving the component (A) with the component (B) so as to make 0.005-50wt.% concentration thereof based on the total of the components (A) and (B), and further adding the component (C).
