Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent electric potention from varying to the noble direction by repetition of charging and discharging, by containing a hydroxide or an oxide of chromium, silver, copper, iron, cerium, mercury, zinc or cadmium in an active material mainly composed of a hydroxide of nickel and cobalt. CONSTITUTION:A positive plate, containing a hydroxide and an oxide of chromium, silver, mercury, cerium, zinc, calcium or cadmium, is used for an active material mainly composed of a hydroxide whose content rate of cobalt against nickel and cobalt is 15-85 wt%. This positive plate is excellent in stability of electric potential with charging and discharging cycles, and even if charging and discharging are repeated, both charging and discharging quantities of electricity and residual capacity in a battery can be easily found out by a voltage variation, while discharge capacity increases. In addition, such operation as detecting voltage and thereby performing the charging control comes easy, thus confidence accuracy is improved.
