Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain microbial resistance for a prolonged period by using an antimicrobial yarn made by depositing antimicrobial metal over a synthetic resin film and slitting it or a twisting made by twisting an antimicrobial yarn and a synthetic fiber thread or a natural fiber yarn as a part of a raw yarn. SOLUTION: An antimicrobial rug uses a twist yarn 2a where an antimicrobial yarn 21 and a synthetic fiber yarn or a yarn 22 as a natural fiber yarn are twisted as a part of the warp. The antimicrobial yarn 21 is a flat yarn obtained by depositing an antimicrobial metal over a synthetic resin film by an ion deposition method or the like, and slitting it to a 0.1 to 5.0 mm wide yarn. The antimicrobial metal is silver, copper, zinc or the like which can be ion exchanged, each having microbial resistance. The synthetic resin film is a polyester or polyethylene film. The twist yarn 2a is made by twisting the antimicrobial yarn 21 and the yarn 22 as the synthetic fiber yarn or the natural fiber yarn 1 to 1 and the warp is prepared by arranging the twistings at an equal interval between other yarns.
