PURPOSE: To provide the refrigerating machine oil excellent in the compatibility with CFCs, resistance to CFCs, electrical insulation and lubricity, comprising a complex ester from a mixture of each specific monocarboxylic acid and dicarboxylic acid and a neopentyl polyol and an alkylbenzene with a specific dynamic viscosity.
CONSTITUTION: The refrigerating machine oil having the above-mentioned advantages, comprising (A) a complex ester from (1) a mixture of (a) 5-14C monocarboxylic acid (e.g. caprylic acid) and (b) 4-10C dicarboxylic acid (e.g. adipic acid) with 50 or higher mol% thereof being a branched alkyl group- bearing monocarboxylic acid (e.g. isoheptanoic acid) and (2) a neopentyl polyol (e.g. neopentyl glycol) and (B) an alkylbenzene having one or two 9-24C straight chain or branched alkyl group(s) with the dynamic viscosity at 40°C of 5-50cst at the weight ratio A/B or (20:80) to (99:1).
