Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare the subject film suitable for packaging textile products, esp. natural fibers such as wool yarns or silk because of its favorable flexibility over a long period of time, containing specified amounts of a plasticizer composed of glycerol and diglycerol at specified proportions.

CONSTITUTION: This film contains ≥8 (pref. 14-20) pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the PVA, of a plasticizer composed of (A) glycerol and (B) diglycerol at the weight ratio A/B of (20:80) to (80:20). It is prefereable that, in terms of the mechanical strength of the film, the PVA be 1000-3000 in polymerization degree and ≥98mol% in saponification degree and 25-200μm in the thickness of the film.
