PURPOSE: To obtain a recording device which has such advantages as the reduced number of parts and manhours for assembly and high reliability at low cost by designing the device so that an ink sheet axial core is automatically connected to and disconnected from an ink sheet pressing mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: An ink sheet cassette 2 holding an ink sheet 3 is so designed as to move an ink sheet pressing mechanism 7 in an axial direction by the gradient part 9 of the ink sheet cassette 2, when the ink sheet cassette 2 is mounted on a main recording device system. A pressing spring 11 is activated to press the ink sheet pressing mechanism 7 against the gradient part 9 provided on the ink sheet cassette 2 when the ink sheet cassette 2 is mounted on the system 1. On the other hand, the spring 11 works to press the mechanism 7 against an ink sheet axial core 8 after mounting the ink sheet cassette 2 on the system 1.
