Abstract:
PURPOSE:To construct a data base corresponding to a target from an electronic document by extracting/converting a character string in accordance with a data base conversion table. CONSTITUTION:An item content character string extraction means 5 refers to the data base conversion table 4 designating a corresponding relation between the item of the data base and the item of an extraction pattern defined by the combination of patterns defined by the related connection of a wild word item, a general item and an abbreviated item, etc., and extracts the character string corresponding to the respective items of the data base. A registered information generation means 7 activates a character string conversion means 6 corresponding to a conversion form designated by the data base conversion table 4 and converts it into the character string corresponding to the specification of the data base. Then, the result is registered to a data base device. Thus, the data base corresponding to the target can easily be constructed from the electronic document such as a newspaper report.
