Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the recovery characteristic of water repellency, prevent corona noise, and surely prevent flash-over in a polluted area by continuously translocating the low-molecular weight silicone constituent in silicone rubber to the surface.

CONSTITUTION: The silicone rubber heated and hardened with a composition containing prescribed diorganopolysiloxane (A) is molded into a prescribed shape to obtain an insulator. The methyl alkyl polysiloxane oil having the viscosity of 1-1,000 centistoke at 25°C and sealed with the trialkyl siloxy group at both ends of the molecular chain as a constituent (B) of 0-100 pts.wt. is combined with the constituent (A) of 100 pts.wt. in the composition. Silica fine powder and aluminum hydroxide powder may be combined in the composition. The methyl group is preferably used for the alkyl group in the constituent (B).
