PURPOSE: To control the verticality of a guide pin and the height position of a tape simultaneously, by holding the tape guide pin by a mechanical substrate and a control plate and setting the length between the mechanical substrate and the control plate to a value approximately equal to the width of the tape.

CONSTITUTION: A control plate 22 is attached to a support 24, which is fixed to a head substrate 5 by a screw 23, by a screw 25, and the control plate 22 is formed so as to cover slightly a tape 26 along the running path of the tape 26. The length between the upper face of the head substrate 5 and the lower face of the control plate 22 is set to a value slightly longer than a tape width C, and the height position of the tape is controlled for tape loading. Positioning holes 34 and 43 of the control plate 22 have the same positional relation as tape guide pin screwing holes of the substrate 5 to secure the vertically of tape guide pins 27 and 42 for the substrate 5. Thus, the verticality of guide pins and the height position of the tape are controlled simultaneously.
