Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce generation of the decoding error of data even when the transmitting condition of the data fluctuates, in the data decoder of a viterbi decoding system.

CONSTITUTION: Not only recording data but also test data are included in a rewriting reproduction signal to be decoded, the test data are introduced to a threshold value setting circuit 6, the predicted sample value of the viterbi decoding is set, and the recording data are decoded by a viterbi decoding circuit 7. The predicted sample value of the viterbi decoding is set, so that the generation of the decoding error can be reduced even when the transmitting condition of the data fluctuates.
