PURPOSE: To unnecessitate seal-water sealing between a rotor and the side face of a runner and enable to realize a high speed as well as a big capacity by increasing the peripheral speed thereof by a method wherein the rotor is formed so as to provide a sealed construction, which is accommodated in a vessel connected to a pipeline and is rotated in water.
CONSTITUTION: The rotor 2 is accommodated in the sealed vessel 6 which is connected to the pipeline with a gap in order to reduce the influence of flowing water while an electric generator or the rotor 1 of an electric motor is arranged at the outside of the vessel 6 so as to oppose to the pole of the rotor 2. The runner 3 is supported by stays 5B through a bearing 7. Thus, the generator or the rotor 2 of the motor is accommodated in the vessel 6 connected to the pipeline and is rotated in the water, therefore, the seal-water sealing between the rotor 2 and the side face of the runner 3 becomes unnecessary. As a result, the peripheral speed of the rotor 2 may be increased, the big capacity as well as the high speed may be obtained and the safety thereof may be increased since the leakage of water can be eliminated.
