PURPOSE: To improve utilization factor of oxygen in air in an oxidation tank, to decrease the amt. of blowing air and to obtain a high desulfurization performance by an inexpensive operation cost by atomizing surely the whole air blown into a slurry.
CONSTITUTION: When a rotating shaft 13 and a propeller 12 are rotated by means of a stirrer provided on a stirrer fixing nozzle 11 on the side wall 15 of an oxidation tank, a flow extruding a slurry from the propeller 12 toward the central part of the oxidation tank is formed while the surrounding slurry of an absorbing soln. is introduced into the rotating shaft side. Therefore, when air for oxidation is blown from an air blowing pipe 8 provided on the nozzle 11, most of the air flows as air bubbles along the rotating shaft 13 and is atomized by means of the propeller 12. Huge air bubbles before atomization are forcibly sent to the propeller 12 side along a guide vane 14 and the huge air bubbles are atomized by means of the rotating propeller 12.
