Abstract:
A camera may be set in either a standard photograph mode or a panoramic mode. In the standard photograph mode, the field of view of a viewfinder is masked on opposite horizontal sides, and the magnification of a taking lens is set at a value at which a photographic field corresponding to the masked field of view is taken in a standard-size frame. In the panoramic mode, the field of view is unmasked while the magnification of the viewfinder is maintained unchanged, and the magnificaiton of the taking lens is set at another value at which a photographic field corresponding to the unmasked field of view is taken in a panoramic-size area which is reduced in height from the standard-size frame and is used for making a panoramic-size photo-print.
