PURPOSE: To obtain the titled solution useful as an antiallergic agent, etc., by dissolving glycyrrhizin or its salt in a concentrated aqueous solution of a dissolving agent such as urea, sodium benzoate, etc. at room temperature, neutrallizing the solution with a pH-adjusting agent, and diluting with water to a specific concentration.
CONSTITUTION: Glycyrrhizin which is an active component of licorice, or its salt is dissolved in a concentrated solution of urea or sodium benzoate (dissolving agent of glycyrrhizin) at room temperature to obtain an acidic concentrated solution, which is adjusted to 6W7pH with a pH-adjusting agent (e.g. alkali carbonate) and diluted with water to a specific glycyrrhizin concentration (0.1W2.0%). Since the isotonicity of glycyrrhizin solution can be attained by the use of the above dissolving agent at a proper concentration (1W3%), it is not necessary to add a particular isotonic agent. Both dissolving agents are extremely safe and have high maximum permissible doses.
USE: Antiphlogistic agent, hepatic function improving agent, and γ-interferon- inducing agent.
