PURPOSE: To efficiently produce a lysoglycolipid useful, e.g. as a raw material for a medicine, a reagent of clinical analysis and a biochemical material by allowing to act a glycosphingolipidceramide deacylase-producing microorganism (extract) which belongs to Streptomyces on a glycosphingolipid.
CONSTITUTION: A glycosphingolipidceramide deacylase-producing microorganism [e.g. Streptomyces sp. H-37 (FERM-P-13822)] which belongs to Streptomyces or its extract is reacted with a phosphate buffer solution containing 0.1 to 10wt.% glycosphingolipid in the presence of a bile-based surfactant (e.g. glycodeoxycholic acid) or a nonionic surfactant at 30 to 40°C in the vicinity of neutral pH. Insoluble components such as cell bodies existing in the reaction solution are subsequently separated and removed according to the centrifugal separation method, the filtration method, etc., and the objective lysoglycolipid produced by the reaction is then collected.
