Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the weight and improve the economy while absorber is precluded from becoming excessive by providing an X-ray absorber to shield an X-ray image multiplication tube and forming this absorber with a cover to absorb X-rays of a certain material contacting with a magnetic field shield layer. CONSTITUTION: An X-ray image multiplication tube has an inlet window 21 and an outlet window 22, from which electrons are emitted, and is shielded by an external magnetic field shield layer 24 and a cover 25 of thermoplastic material filled with a substance which absorbs X-rays likely to make contacting decomposition of the shield layer 24. According to this shield 20 of simple configuration to allow easy fabrication, the weight is reduced and the economy improved while the absorber 5 is precluded from becoming excessive.
