PURPOSE: To simplify the construction of continuous casting equipment by arranging molten metal pouring holes into a mold in plural sets of tundishes laying on a single tundish car so as to be liftable to each specific position.

CONSTITUTION: On one set of the tundish car 3, two sets of the tundishes are laid so as to be individually liftable and one set of the tundish 1 is formed as U-shape and the other tundish 2 is formed as boat-shape. Then, the molten metal pouring holes into the mold are arranged at both tip parts 4, 5 of U-shape in the case of the former tundish and at the positions 6, 7 near the molten metal pouring holes 4, 5 in the U-shape tundish 1 at both tip parts of the boat- shape in the case of the latter tundish. By this method, two strand type plural layer cast slab continuous casting equipment can be realized with the simple equipment constitution in low cost.
