PURPOSE: The titled composition that is made by adding cationized keratin derivative to hair cosmetics other than preshampoo treatment, thus showing good affinity to hair and skins, giving hairs flexibility, wiriness and moistness with high detergency.
CONSTITUTION: Hair cosmetics other than preshampoo treatment are combined with a cationized keratin derivative that is obtained by reaction of all or a part of the sulfhydryo groups in keratin with a cationizing reagent containing the group of the formula (X is halogen) and a quaternary nitrogen in the molecule such as S-(β-hydroxy-γ-trimethylammoniopropyl)keratin. The above keratin is prepared by subjecting a keratin substance such as wool or hair to reductive treatment. As the above cationizing reagent, is most usually glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride.
