PURPOSE: To obtain a wide and thin cast sheet having a small quantity of internal crack and surface crack and to simplify a rolling reduction device.
CONSTITUTION: In a continuous casting method of a wide and thin cast sheet for executing the rolling reduction to a cast sheet 13 while unsolidifying layer exists in the inner part of the cast sheet, a projecting shaped unsolidifying cast sheet 13 is formed in the short side by using a mold of the short sides whose inner peripheral surfaces are formed with the continuous recessed shapes in the casting direction, and the rolling reduction is applied in the unsolidifying condition therein. Further, the short sides of the cast slab 13 are heated before the rolling reduction of the unsolidifying condition therein.
