PURPOSE: To provide an operating lever device for a tape recorder which is small in the number of parts and man-hour for its assembly.

CONSTITUTION: This operating lever device for the tape recorder has an operating lever 1 of a push button type including a lever body and an engaging part 2 disposed in this body and a detaining member 7 including a detaining member body and a detaining part 6 disposed in this body. An engaging part is detained to a detaining part when the operating lever is pushed toward the detaining member. An engaging part is released from the detaining part when the operating lever is again pushed toward the detaining member. Further, either the engaging part or the detaining part are resin molded integrally with the body in which these parts are disposed, and a plastic hinge 8 in the state oscillatable laterally and vertically by this plastic hinge.
