Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a conductive core which is free from bending or deformation by forming high density portions in a belt-like metal fiber sintered substrate in its lengthy direction at regular intervals, and welding a nickel corrugated plate thereto so that the thickness of the welded part is thinner than that of the sintered substrate. CONSTITUTION:A high density portion 2 is continuously formed in a part of a belt-like nickel fiber sinter 1 in its lengthy direction, and the bottom of a 0.5mm thick nickel corrugated plate 3 is welded by electric welding to the sinter 1 to form a current collecting terminal. By making the thickness of the welded part of the corrugated plate thinner than that of the porous part of the sinter, biting of the welded terminal into active material filling equipment in an active material filling process is prevented. A slurry-like active material is filled in the porous substrate, and dried to prepare an about 1.5mm thick plate. This plate is pressed with a roller press 4 to make a 0.7mm thick plate. The conductive core which is free from bending or deformation is obtained.
