Abstract:
PURPOSE: To emphasize edges in a picture and increase the printability of the output of a zero-graphic engine. CONSTITUTION: A signal To is inputted to a threshold comparator 14 and generated from a threshold signal Ti which controls the sharpness of a picture and another threshold signal TH which controls the clustering of picture elements for printability. In order to generate the threshold signal TH, an output register 18 and past output registers 60-62 are connected to an adder 63 through multipliers HA, HB, HC, and HD. In order to deduce the threshold signal Ti , the picture signals stored in an input register 10 are sent to a deciding block 70 where the signals are multiplied by a factor (K-1). Then the decided values, (K-1) multiplied by picture elements, are subtracted from a reference value by means of a difference determinator 72 and added to the threshold signal TH.
