PURPOSE: To more sharply reduce thermal stress produced in an evaporation tube of an evaporator upon waste heat recovery as compared with prior art in a heat siphon waste heat recovery apparatus for recovering exhaust gas heat from an engine to a cooling water side of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: A heat siphon waste heat recovery apparatus includes an evaporator 77 for heat-exchanging a fluid heat medium with exhaust gas from an engine in an evaporation tube 9, a condenser 81 disposed upward of the evaporator 77 for heat-exchanging a heat medium evaporated in the evaporator 77 with cooling water cooling the engine and condensing the same, a vapor passage 85 for guiding the heat medium evaporated in the evaporator 77 to the condenser 81, and a fluid pipe line 87 for guiding the heat medium liquefied through the condenser 81 to the evaporator 77. A fluid introduction pipe 97 for guiding the liquefied heat medium from the fluid pipe line 87 is inserted into the evaporation tube 79.
