PURPOSE: To provide a side clip enabling the sure and strong setting of a top needle cloth on a top bar, free from cutting of a base cloth and capable of improving the precision of the top.

CONSTITUTION: This side clip for a top needle cloth is composed of a main body 5 having the roughly inverted L-shaped cross section which is formed by connecting, through a ceiling part 4, a setting par 2 to set the side clip on a top bar and a pushing part 3 contacting with the upper surface of the base cloth and plural roughly rhombic clipping pieces 8 protrusively attached on the lower surface of the pushing part 3. A top needle cloth using the side clip is also provided.
