PURPOSE: To obtain a heat-sensitive recording material excellent in the head matching property free from the adhesion of scale and sticking by arranging a coat layer containing fine particles of a copolymer of stylene and methacrylic acid on the surface of a heat-sensitive color development layer.

CONSTITUTION: A copolymer of stylene and methacrylic acid with a molar ratio of 1:9W9:1 is contained into a coat layer in the form of a fine particles with grain sizes 0.05W20μ at a rate of 10W90wt%. In addition to the stylene-methacrylic acid copolymer, a water-soluble high polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol, carboxymethyl cellulose and other additives can be contained in the coat layer. This coat layer is arranged on the surface of a heat-sensitive color developing layer comprising a leuco dye, an acid substance, a binder and the like in the adhesion range of 0.5g/m2W5g/m2 after dried.
