PURPOSE: To provide a vehicle suspension system capable of obtaining vibration controlling property sufficient for moment of inertia to ensure operation controllability while ensuring riding confortableness even to an input from a road surface.
CONSTITUTION: This vehicle suspension system has a sprung vertical speed detecting means (c) for detecting the sprung vertical speed near respective shock absorbers (b), a sprung acceleration detecting means (d) for detecting the sprung acceleration near respective shock absorbers (b), a pitch rate detecting means (e) for detecting the pitch rate of a car body, a roll rate detecting means (f) for detecting the roll rate of the car body and a control means (h) having a damping coefficient control section (g) for controlling the damping coefficient of the respective shock absorbers (b) on the basis of a control signal obtained from the sprung vertical speed, proportional constant of the sprung vertical speed, pitch rate and roll rate and further a bounce rate correction section (j) for reducing the proportional constant multiplied by the sprung vertical speed when the sprung acceleration exceeds a predetermined threshold value.
