Abstract:
PURPOSE: To apply a sufficiently high propelling force to a weft by the traction force of a fluid jet and improve the weft-insertion efficiency in a fluid jet loom.
CONSTITUTION: A waviness having a proper wavelength is applied to a flying weft 5 by a waviness-applying mechanism 2 in weft-insertion. The resistance of the weft 5 to the fluid jet 4 is increased by the waviness and the traction force of the fluid jet 4 is transmitted to the weft 5 as a sufficiently high propelling force to improve the weft-insertion efficiency.
